It's all relative

"And then my mom said -"

"MY dwanma!" Willa corrected me from the floor where she was obsessively lining up 40+ tiny rubber ducks.

"Willa, your grandma is my mom."

"MY DWANMA!"

"You're right... your grandma. And she loves you very much," and then I muttered under my breath, "but she knew me first, and she's MY mom."

Jim laughed.

Dear Sweetheart (Willa),
You’re absolutely right.
Your Dwanma is the greatest thing since disposable diapers !!
You make my heart melt just by looking at me.
I laugh sooooo hard when your Mom tells you to do something and you smile sweetly at her and say
“Uhhhhh……no” and run away.
And your deep belly laugh can make the hardest and coldest heart giggle.
I love you “from the moon and back” and then out to the farthest galaxy!
So even if Mom feels threatened and has to get the last word in……
YOU are still my first
and only Willa.

Dear APT,
You are the result of a unique and unending love.
My blood pumped through your body.
You breathed the oxygen my breath took in.
The world stood still when I held you for the first time.
I was in awe of how you grew and learned.
I am extremely proud of the kind of person you have become.
I will love you forever.

How can you possibly feel threatened by a 2 year old?!!!!!

LOL! Ah yes! The ever present my mom/my grandma struggle. One day she will be there too. :o)

I haven't updated because I'm kind of waiting. I'll be sure to update as soon as I hear something.

Awwww. Your mom is awesome. Clearly you and Willa both agree. I don't even try to get in between my Mom and Maggie anymore, Maggie wins. Hands down. I refer to Paul and myself as just Maggie's drivers.

Awww crap! Doesn't your mom know that other pregnant, hormonal women read your blog? I'm all weepy now because of her sweet comment! LOL!

Yup. My mom is awesome. Which is totally why I'd thumb wrestle Willa for her. Kidding, kidding...
