Wisenheimer

"Willa, how many trees do you think are in this forest?"

She looked around the old growth of Hartwick Pines as though she was about to count all of the trees. Perhaps she was lazy, or maybe she remembered that her counting capability goes as high as 20 (and omits the number 13). She answered: "all of them."

Maggie always used to skip 17, what's up with that??

Also, let me know the next time you head up to Hartwick Pines -- my friend Rob runs the logging museum there and does a bunch of interesting programs. If you met a pudgy goateed guy with Cliff Clavin-like tendencies who liked the kids, that was probably our Rob!

Hilarious!

We took a trip to Hartwick Pines when my youngest sis was 4 or 5. She cried the entire time and still tells everyone that it's "the worst place in the world!"
